Cottonwood Community Library Events

On Tuesday, February 17th, the Cottonwood Community Library celebrated its appreciation for all of the volunteers that make the library the success it is, with a breakfast celebration hosted by the library's board of directors. Festivities started at 8:30AM, and the rain didn't keep the volunteers at home. Included in the group were all the volunteers who work in the library serving the public four days a week, the traveling story time volunteers who read each week to 85 children in the local daycares, the adult literacy volunteers who work with English and Spanish speaking adults, our website support volunteer and our library story time volunteers.

These watercolors by artist Marion Moir, are of four past locations and the current home of the Cottonwood Community Library. The project was funded by a grant from the Shasta Regional Community Foundation's Community Building Arts Initiative. The art opening attracted people from across the County and from as far away as Oregon. A great time was had by all.

Here are Sharon Thomas, the past long time librarian of the library

Everyone enjoyed the art, wine and buffet, as well as a slide show of old photos of historical Cottonwood put to music. The pictures for the slide show were made available to the library by the Shasta County Historical Society.
