Cottonwood Community Library Events

These watercolors by artist Marion Moir, are of four past locations and the current home of the Cottonwood Community Library. The project was funded by a grant from the Shasta Regional Community Foundation's Community Building Arts Initiative. The art opening attracted people from across the County and from as far away as Oregon. A great time was had by all. Here are Sharon Thomas, the past long time librarian of the library with Marion Moir , the artist. Elaine and Marion. They worked together on the project. Elaine wrote the grant. Cottonwood's beloved James "Doc" Reifert and Marion. Gayle Harrington, Director of Library Services, gives the public a brief history of the library. Everyone enjoyed the art, wine and buffet, as well as a slide show of old photos of historical Cottonwood put to music. The pictures for the slide show were made available to the library by the Shasta County Historical Society.
