It's time once again for those "lazy, hazy, crazy" days of summer.

It always happens that we run smack-dab from cool, breezy spring weather to blast-furnace heat in a matter of days. This is the time of year that makes you want to close the blinds or draw closed the curtains, pour yourself a glass of refreshing iced tea, turn off the reruns on the television and settle down to enjoy a good book. Take an armchair vacation between the pages of an exciting novel, or help solve a tangled murder mystery! It all can happen, and we have the books to help you do just that!

Are the kids driving you crazy with the constant sounds of, "we're bored there's nothing to do"? Check out the featured table just inside the entrance to the library. It is filled with Arts and Crafts project books for the kids. Maybe this is the summer they learn to make a puppet or do a leather craft. Have they shown signs of becoming a budding writer? We have a book for that. Show them that there are alternatives to video games. Set a good example for the children and learn a new craft right along side of them. Maybe it is a new style of cooking for you! I am sure the whole family would love to sample your new-found talents just waiting for you within the pages of our great cookbooks ?

Can you believe that August 4th will be our third anniversary in the new building! Time flies when you are having fun, and boy are we having some fun! Stop by for a celebration treat with us that day, and show your appreciation to the fine volunteers who keep the wheels turning. We could not do it without their dedication to the library. Happy Anniversary, Cottonwood Community Library! Here's to many more years of success.
