Debra Clemmans Jones
HELLO EVERYONE, I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR REUNION. I ENJOY MY CAREER WITH THE GLENN COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION. I SPECIALIZE IN AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS. OUR SON IS A THIRD GENERATION NAVAL VETERAN, FOLLOWING HIS FATHER MICHAEL, AND GRANDFATHER CLEO. HE HAS GIVEN US A GREAT DAUGHTER-IN LAW AND GORGEOUS ELEVEN MONTH OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. WE ARE PROUD THAT HE CONTINUES TO SERVE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD, HELPING MANY IN NEED. MY SPECIAL MEMORY IS THAT, UPON RETURNING TO MY CORNING PEERS, IT WAS THOUGH I HAD NEVER MOVED AWAY FOR THAT PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS. THIS SAYS VOLUMES FOR THE INTEGRITY OF OUR CLASS. I'M BLESSED THAT MY CHOSEN SISTER/ FRIEND OF 50 + YEARS, JANIE GARCIA NOW LIVES NEXT DOOR. LATER, DEBBY

My wife Wanda and I are coming up on our 35th wedding anniversary Oct 19th, 2009. We got married at the end of my pilot training in Texas. I trained in jets flying the T37 and T38 trainers in Texas, and the swing wing F111A in Nevada, and Idaho, then went into engineering in North Carolina. After 8 1/2 years service time (plus 4 yrs at the Air Force Academy) I got out of the Air Force and moved to Michigan. We've been in Michigan since Jan 1982(with Chrysler where I was in engineering 25 1/2 yrs ... I took an early retirement offer at the end of Jun 2007). I currently live in the countryside here at Dexter, MI (Webster township).
Occasionally, we fly back to Corning for visits with my mother (my dad died in July of 1994) ... she still lives up in the old Jenning's Heights sub on the east edge of town. Each time I'm in town, I always keep a look out for old friends.
I will be headed to Corning for the '69ers 40th reunion in Oct, '09. Hope to see many classmates!

After attending a few years at Chico State I moved to Sacramento and went to work at UC Davis Medical Center. In July 1976 I married Jerry Ross and we remained in Sacramento until our first son, Michael, was born in 1980. Soon after his birth we decided to return to Corning to be near our families. Our second son, Brandon, was born in 1982. After both boys were attending school, I began working for the Corning School District. It has been a wonderful career for me which has lasted more than twenty years. My husband has retired from PGE but continues to work out of our home as an electrical engineer for a private contractor. However, we are both looking forward to retirement very soon! We have a two year old grandson and are anxiously awaiting the delivery of his sister. Just when you think life couldn't be better, you're given grandchildren!

After graduating from Corning High I went to work for CDF (now Cal Fire) as a seasonal firefighter for 3 seasons. In 1972 I became full time as a Fire Truck Driver. I stayed working in Tehama County, working all over the county at different fire stations. I also got married in 1972 and got divorsed in 1980, while married to Leota, we had 2 kids, Bryon and Heather. Bryon is in the Navy in Norfolk, VA. He has been in for 15 years. He just got married in 2008 to Mandy, and they have 2 girls, from her previous marriage. Heather is a RN living ing Corvallis, OR. I promoted to Fire Captain in 1979 at Deadwood Camp, in Fort Jones, CA. We moved there in 1979. I ran an inmate fire crew for 10 years, then went back to a fire station for 3 years in Siskiyou county. I then to a dispatcher Fire Captain job and worked in the 911 dispatch center in Yreka,CA for 13 years. That was by far the hardest job I ever did. Living in a small community you get to know most of the people, when you receive a 911 call alot of the time they were friends or relatives. We were an EMD center, so we would give CPR instructions over the phone, give child birth instructions over the phone ( I did help with 1 over the phone, very exciting, a little girl down in Weed, CA), and other medical instructions.Very stressful and sometime rewarding. I got remarried 1999 and am married to Cathy. I still live in Fort Jones, CA. I retired in 2004. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and golf. I relly enjoy having my neice and nephew (Kate 10 and KC 9) up every summer for 2 weeks to take fishing and hunting . They have are an absolute blast.
