| Mike Armstrong Professionally, see my website listed below (20 years US Coast Guard; 16 years trading on the first 20). Personally, 1 wife (34 yrs and counting and counting and counting), 2 daughters, 1 son, 1 grandson and 4 granddaughters. Grandchildren range from 9 (grandson) to 9 months. Instead of the starting offensive line for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I'm now hoping for the starting 5 for a WNBA team. I've attached a photo of my wife, Debra (Chico Sr High '72), and I and our three kids, Tim, Talitha and Dianne (youngest to oldest). There's also a grainy vanity photo attached showing me in my spiffy USCG uniform in my office in 1985. Can't make it from Florida to California for the reunion. Have a good time, tho. Regards, Mike Armstrong | ![]() | |
| Renae (Ash) Redman It is hard to believe that it has been 40 years and I don't know how all of you feel, but I sure don't feel that old. It has been great reading all the different profiles and I thank Bonnie D for all her hard work in getting all this together. The last reunion I had attended was our 10th and then for the 20th, on that same weekend, Tom and I were in Estes Park, Colorado taking the big plunge one last time. To celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary we were going to do something really special, well things just didn't happen like we had planned and I was in Talkeetna, Alaska running a bed and breakfast we opened up this year and Tom stayed in Nebraska getting our place there ready to sell. Check out our web site . A lot has happened in the last 40 years, some good and some bad and I just try to focus on the positive of what life will bring. I have two great step-kids; Maury and her husband Brian have a daughter that will be 2 in November. My step-son Heath is in the Army, he left August 27th for Iraq, his 2nd tour over there, we pray for his safety and that he will return home soon. As far as a career, I guess I would say it would be in banking I was in banking for 14 years I started as a teller and worked in every department except bookkeeping (I hated filing checks). My last job as a banker I managed a branch at a Wal-Mart in Dodge City, Kansas. Tom and I are in the process of the BIG move to Alaska, and boy does that entail a lot, especially when you have animals. We wanted to have all that done this summer, but that didn't happen, so it has to wait until this spring. We are going to try and make it to the reunion I am flying back to Nebraska Sept. 8th and again if things go right we will see you there. | ||
| Nancy Ball I am married and live in the country just outside of Orland. My husband owns a trucking business in Alaska, where we spend our summers. I have two wonderful married sons, Daniel and Nick, who also live in Orland. I don't have any grandchildren yet. I went back to college in my 40's, finished my teaching credential, and have been teaching Adult Education since I turned 50, which I find very rewarding. | ||
| LUAN BEATY After we graduated in 1969, as if that was the end of something, I rush into marraige as a means of leaving home. (Since I thought I now knew it all.) It was a short marraige of four years and two kids. I left the marraige in 1973 with my son and daughter in tote, and headed to San Jose, Ca.,where I spent the next twelve years. I worked for ten years for Santa Clara County Department of Social Services. I had all the fun in the world, it was a dream to me. I was self supporting (surprised me), single, cute and naive. I took a few classes at San Jose City College and Evergreen City College while I was there. I think I earned about 17 units, But I was really too busy living the fun life. Then. I moved down here in 1984. It was a culture shock. It was too much of a small, small town. It was like going back in time to the forties or something. However I was able to buy a little house by the Ocean for me and my daughter My son had gone to live with his father in 1982. My first job here was with San Loius Obispo County Social Services. So I left there in 1987 and started working in Santa Maria, for Santa Barbara County DDS My Daughter graduated from High School and moved out of the house shortly thereafter. I stayed at Santa Barbara County until 1995. I got involved with a man who had three children, ages 5 to 11. That relationship lasted about four years and he left me in 1999. That really left me adrift and depressed. I went to work for a local bank for a while, then remarried, to a crazy man. No kidding, I got out of that situation with my life, and that's all. I lost the house, my pride and most of my money. I avoid relationships now. In 2002 I went to the Massage school. It was marvelous! It was sooo nice with all the candles, oils and soft music. It was really where I wanted to be and what I wanted to do. I've since taken other classes in healing and do have a reputation among my piers of having healing energy. I couldn't earn enough money doing body work, so I started part time at the local school doing custodial work in 2006 to make ends meet. I was making so much more money doing that, that I just went full time. I have benefited in surprising ways from this job. I actually enjoy doing physical work and being on my feet all the time, moving, keeping busy. I'll hope to see you at the reunion. Luan | ||

| Pete Bourget I went to Chico State for a year and a half or so. Then I joined the Navy and got married. I went to Electronics school in Memphis Tennessee for a year and was sent to the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands Kauai, Hawaii. I was air crew and Radar and ECM operator in addition to my electronics work on the aircraft. We spent four years there and had twins (boy and girl). They grew up going to the beach every day. We next were stationed at Whidbey Island, Washington where we had another daughter. I spent my time there doing advanced electronic repair and programming computers. Four years later I left the Navy and moved to Manteca where I worked for Wang Laboratories doing field service on computers and word processing equipment. We had another daughter shortly after we arrived in Manteca. I worked for them for about 12 or 13 years and became a District Technical Specialist supporting the field technicians with an Office in San Francisco and Sacramento. I also got a divorce during that period and I moved to Stockton. Unfortunately, due to bad management the company failed and I had to go looking for something new. I started a company installing and maintaining Local Area Networks with a friend who had just retired from the Air Force. We were in business a year or so, making a living but not getting rich. One day out of the blue a recruiter from Bank of America in the Concord Technical Center who knew a friend of mine called and wanted to know if I would be willing to come in for an interview. I told her I had a partner in the business and she said to bring him along. They hired us both and I was the liaison to Novell Corporation for Bank of America. I also remarried to a fantastic friend and partner who likes to travel as I do. I had several promotions and held various positions over the 9 years I worked there. Eventually I was a Vice President in the Architecture and Technology division. B of A was then acquired by Nations Bank, keeping the Bank of America name. At the end of a long turf war the Technology group in Charlotte, NC. won and our lobs were eliminated. I was offered relocation to Charlotte but decided to stay here and had to find another job. My former boss at B of A had started a new company and moved back to Minnesota. Thanks to the internet and what it offers I joined his company and stayed in Stockton. We write programs and design computer systems for law enforcement and other government groups. My wife, Nancy, is the HR Administrator for a small company here in Stockton. We have traveled to Nova Scotia, the Azores Islands, the island of Madeira, Mexico and Argentina. My oldest daughter is married and is the Logistics manager for Nordstroms Westlake Village in southern California and lives in Santa Barbara. My son is a computer programmer for people around the world and lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has been there for several years and speaks fluent Portuguese. My middle daughter is in Real Estate marketing in Phoenix, AZ. and expecting her first child in January. My youngest daughter is in electronics sales in Scottsdale, AZ. and has a 6 year old daughter. | ![]() | |
| Teresa Brown Last thought of the night, August 5th, 2009 So, I'm laying in bed; it's late, like 8:30. I'm reading the Maui News. I get up around 5:00 each morning to walk to Haiku School where they have kept me in kindergarten for the past 18 years. I walk a mile to the school and arrive around 6:30. I live alone since both my sons are in their 20's. I had locked down the farm house around 7:00 after I feed the 13 year old dog. So the story. I'm laying in bed and hear this, "tap, tap, tap". What the heck I think, what's that's noise? Must be the bushes tapping on the window. (No big deal, right?) Oh yeah, duh, I trimmer those bushes on Saturday. What in the world could it be? Very quietly I crawl from under my sheet. (It's very warm here) and creep to the window. When I peer out all I see are geckos, yea the real things, lizards. They are thumping their heads against the glass and seem to be saying, "look at me, look at me, look at me." Tap,tap, tap. Sorry I can't make the reunion, Love to you all, tbrown | ||
